York-Med has been the partner of choice for Ontario Community Health Centres (CHC) since 1999.

In June 2007 during the Association of Ontario Health Centres Annual Conference York-Med was honoured at a special reception for the implementation of the labs and meds modules in the Ontario CHCs in 2006. Each of the team members received a certificate that read:

"In recognition of your Outstanding Contribution towards completion of the CHC CMS and Integrated Systems Rollout to Community Health Centres With Thanks and gratitude!"

York-Med has truly proven themselves as implementation experts. In less than six months time York-Med set-up and installed over 70 servers in CHCs in major and remote centres across Ontario. Highlights of this project included a major software upgrade, conversion to Microsoft Terminal Services and/or Citrix for many locations plus training of 2253 staff, and implementation services to hundreds of healthcare professionals. Each Community Health Centre has its own specific challenges and workflow analysis studies were introduced to address those individual requirements.

YORK-MED & PURKINJE ARE WORKING WITH THE AOHC & MOHLTC TO ENHANCE CLINICAL CARE THROUGH ELECTRONIC LABS AND MEDS IN COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRES IN ONTARIO

Markham, ON, January 31, 2006 – This week Ontario’s commitment to create and support a standardized computerized healthcare environment has been taken one step further. The Association of Ontario Health Centres (AOHC) and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) will team up with York-Med Systems Inc. as the service provider for implementing the Purkinje PM™ and Purkinje Dossier™ Version 4.22 Rollout.

York-Med will be updating the Purkinje software currently being used in 89 Community Health Centres and Satellites across Ontario and providing the necessary training to ease all healthcare workers into the new program changes. This update will equip all of the CHCs with two components to enhance clinical care and promote efficiency and improved service integration; Electronic Labs and Electronic Prescriber.

The North Hamilton, East End, Centre Francophone de Toronto, and Davenport Perth Community Health Centres have had the updated 4.22 Version of Purkinje Dossier™ and Purkinje PM™ installed over the past couple of weeks and are now undergoing training under the systematic tutelage of York-Med’s experienced trainers. A full rollout of this upgrade is planned for all CHCs starting in April of this year.

York-Med will upgrade, install, run conversions, and provide end user training on the new software components. A preliminary workflow analysis will be conducted at each of the centres to assist centres with the transition.
